Individual Therapy & Specialities

Individual sessions are entirely collaborative & unique to each client. Read more below about what individual therapy entails and specialty areas Brooke is trained in.

Individual Therapy

50 - 80 minute psychotherapy sessions where Brooke will use a variety of models to help fully understand you and where to help guide treatment. Psychological, neurological, biological, spiritual, and social factors all play a major role in how we are functioning and feeling - and all will be accounted for in therapy. Brooke often utilizes a variety of therapy theories and modalities in sessions: Schema Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, Self Compassion Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Neurology/Neuro-Affirming Therapy, Attachment Theory, Emotion Focused, and more.

Trauma Therapy Services

Brooke offers two different modalities that are both researched backed and scientifically proven to help decrease symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, Chronic Pain, and more after going through either a short or long term traumatic or stressful event.

Brainspotting and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) are the two services Brooke is trained in and offers to many clients if they are a good fit. Both are highly effective, and can often shorten the length of therapy needed. Often, many clients report who have had chronic stress and trauma report that talk therapy "just isn't enough" in addition to adequate self care, nutrition, and medication management outside of therapy. This can be incredibly defeating. Both of these types of therapies have been proven to show rapid improvements for clients really struggling.

These two therapies use eye movements and positions to help process deep core memories and decrease negative beliefs about oneself and world. Traditional talk therapy only accesses about 10% of our "human" logical brain most of the time, while these techniques help to get to our inner emotional, subconscious brain to unblock negative emotions and triggering memories!

While these can be very promising for relief, EMDR is often considered much more intensive and requires Brooke to evaluate to ensure each client is ready for this treatment. EMDR can cause significant anxiety and distress after session - but short term - for the next 6-24 hours. Brainspotting is considered a more gentle approach to healing, but can often cause some distress during and after sessions. Please see our FAQ page or contact us for further information if interested in scheduling a trauma therapy service!
